proud_ionian Posted July 27, 2007 Share Posted July 27, 2007 Radioactive BLUEs?July 27: It looks as though a decision on the BLUE LADY's fate is to be delayed at least another ten days as the Indian Supreme Court reviews new material claiming that the 5,500 fire alarms on board the historic liner contain Americum 241, a radioactive material that is known to cause cancer. The former SS NORWAY/FRANCE was beached on August 15, 2006 and has been laying in the elements some 4,000 feet from the plot owned by Priya Blue Shipbreakers, the outfit that purchased the ship last year. zervaspol Posted July 31, 2007 Share Posted July 31, 2007 Μόλις αυτό το χρόνο έμαθα πως υπάρχουν heat detectors, οι οποίοι περιέχουν το ραδιενεργό υλικό ροδόνιο.Η ποσότητα είναι σύμφωνα πάντα με την κατασκευάστρια εταιρεία εξαιρετικά μικρή και με διάρκεια ζωής 4 - 7 χρόνια.Αυτοί οι ανιχνευτές όμως τελικά έχουν ζωή ίσως μεγαλύτερη από 10 χρόνια.Η κατασκευάστρια εταιρεία έχει θέσει σαν προυπόθεση για την αντικατάστασή τους να τους παραλαμβάνει η ίδια για να τους ανακυκλώνει.Απλώς αναρωτιέμαι μήπως τελικά έχουν σχέση όλα αυτά ή είναι ΚΑΙ κάτι άλλο.Επίσεις πόσοι απο τους ναυτικούς γνωρίζουν για την ύπαρξή τους και τελικά πόσοι από αυτούς επιστρέφονται στους κατασκευαστές όπως οφείλουν να κάνουν οι αντιπρόσωποί τους? proud_ionian Posted November 27, 2007 Share Posted November 27, 2007 συμφωνα με την τελευταια ενημερωση του maritimematters (30/11), το βαπορι ξηλωνεται τελειως μεσα, ωστε να ελαφρυνει και να τραβηχτει εξω για να αρχισει το κοψιμο. βεβαια τοσες μερες που εχουν περασει μπορει να εχει ξεκινησει και το κοψιμο. November 30: Reports from Alang indicate the following: BLUE LADY has been purged of many of her removable fittings, and, in typical breaking tradition, the very point of her marvelous bow has been snipped off, even though the ship remains in basically the same position she was last September and no other structural demolition has begun. proud_ionian Posted May 27, 2008 Share Posted May 27, 2008 τελικα η Norwegian Cruise Line θα σκασει καμια 13αρα εκ USD αποζημιωσεις σε θυματα της εκρηξης του 2003. ηρθε σε συμβιβασμο για να αποφυγει τα χειροτερα. α, εχει και 1εκ προστιμο A US federal judge in Miami, FL ruled that Norwegian Cruise Line must pay over US$13 million to the victims of the May 25, 2003 boiler explosion aboard the NORWAY which killed eight workers and injured 10 others. The company had agreed to plead guilty in May to a charge of gross negligence. Judge Federico Moreno also levied a US$1 million fine against NCL. Τότε που όλη η Γαλλία καμάρωνε για το νεότευκτο ... φυσικό ήταν και η ΠΑΠΥΡΟΣ ΛΑΡΟΥΣ να έχει το σχέδιο του ΓΑΛΛΙΑ/FRANCE στο λήμμα "πλοίο". This will be the second public auction of materials rescued at huge expense from the ship, which was broken up this past year (see MidShipCentury.com) after languishing since August of 2006 at Alang. A prior sale at Christie's New York in 2008 failed to bring in high reserve prices on many items, such as chandeliers, chairs, tables and artwork set by a previous dealer. Some of these items are now part of this second auction. Thierry Dufournaud's image of "Le Nez", which has an estimate of 80,000 to 100,000 Euros, can be found on the Shipping New photos page.
