I was thinking this too. Very strange situation.
Petros P Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Now seems to be at Chittagong as per all AIS sites. I had to doublecheck it Anyhow Chittagong is also a port apart from demolition "place". Furthermore demolition yards are some miles more north. Searoad Tamar was searching for cargo 2 months ago,so it maybe a cargo.
TomJ Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 I wonder if it’s to do with changing her port of registry?
Nicksy58 Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 Did Kateros Shipping in Nisyros aquire the Joy Star (ex. Samos Star) as substitute for the Panagia Spiliani? Or has another company taken over the route(s) of the Panagia Spiliani with the Joy Star?
TomJ Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 What does the little tanker ‘Filiatra’ carry to or from Aegina? Oil, water or sewerage.
proud_ionian Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 She is a water tanker. Α new water pipeline is now under construction, connecting aegina to Athens water supply network.

TomJ Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Any truth in the rumour about Seajets buying the exExpress Santorini?
Nicksy58 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 The Olympus back in Piraeus and the SeaSpeed Ferries website gone? Is this the end?
Gsoult Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 The site is operational. According to the online booking the ship is going to begin her itineraries on 14/05.

There is a very strong rumour(almost confirmed) for the ex Express Santorini. Specifically, they said that a crew of the Seajets (probably) is going to pick her up from Dubai to bring her here in Greece.

Thanks. The link I had isn't working ( www.seaspeedferries.gr/en ). I see it's "seaspeed" now after the slash instead of "en"
TomJ Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Searoad Tamar has now been beached at Chittagong and is due to be scrapped. Maybe a reprieve for the Pelagitis.
TomJ Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 (edited) What has happened to the Olympic? Is she still in service? Edited May 23, 2021 by TomJ
TomJ Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Any update about the potential purchase of Al Samy 4 ( ex Express Santorini) by Seajets?
Nick the Greek Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 The talk of the town still is that it's a done deal and she's gonna be brought back to Greece by Seajets.
Billy Johnson Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 (edited) Is there any truth also in the rumour that seajets are purchasing the Condor Rapide? the sister to champion Jet 1&2 Edited May 25, 2021 by Billy Johnson

TomJ Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 What is happening to the El Venizelos? Normally she is on the Piraeus- Chania route this time of year. Maybe because the Elyros has not been chartered out this Summer!
Nick the Greek Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 She is an expensive ship to operate, the passenger traffic by all predictions will not be great, so it does not make sense for them to mobilise her.
TomJ Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 (edited) Thank you Nick Edited May 29, 2021 by proud_ionian quote
TomJ Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 The longer they keep these old ferries in service is good for me, they have character and experience behind them.
