Jean-Charles Thillays Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Kalimera, I'm looking on information on Lord of the Glens yacht from Magna Carta Steamship, prio his conversion into yacht/cruise style. I know that the hull was built in 1985 in Greece, at Psarros shipyard, and that she was built under the name Victoria. Do you know who ordered her ? Wiche ship owner order this ship ? It was a day ferry originaly ? Thank you ! Jc
Nick the Greek Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Bon apres-midi cher JC, Indeed built as the Victoria, renamed Victoria II in 1999 and then assumed her current name in the year 2000. As far as I can see she was ordered by Magna Carta Steamship and her technical management has changed from Anglo-Eastern to V Ships UK. At least this is what my sources show. To me it does not appear she has ever served as a day ferry, at least I don't remember that.
Humbersmith Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Good morning Shipfriends. I am looking for help in identifying two vessels. Firstly this tug at Drapetsona. and secondly the fast ferry SUPER SPEED at Ambelaki. Any information appreciated.

Humbersmith Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Hello Shipfriends, The attached distant shot was taken from the Aegina ferry on 22nd May and is the former tanker SOUNION. The name on her bow appears to be DECKASIS. The tanker is not displaying an AIS signal but there is a tug on station nearby, today it is the VERNICOS SCAFI II. Are any members able to confirm a change of name? At some point she will presumably enter a yard for further repairs.
AnekLines1 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Hello Humbersmith Thanks for sharing the photo and update. Based on the image, it does look like the name DECKASIS has been painted over the bow, suggesting a recent or pending name change from SOUNION. The lack of AIS signal could mean she is currently inactive or undergoing pre-repair preparations, especially with the VERNICOS SCAFI II tug nearby. That often indicates coordination for towing or maneuvering into a shipyard. Unfortunately, I can’t confirm the name change officially yet. Edited 7 hours ago by AnekLines1
