Jun 12 -- General cargo with container capacity Deneb (3992 gt, built 1994) which operates in the terminal of APM terminals Algeciras, listed over in the port, injuring two people who were taken to hospital in the spring Juan Carlos I of Algeciras port, at 1400 hrs on Jun 11 . The incident necessitated the intervention of a coastguard tug and a ship to regularize the situation. The company confirmed a few hours after the accident which occurred at 1355 hrs, that the vessel listed over to starboard in the dock east of the terminal. The information on whether there were any injuries was contradictory.

Jun 14 -- Thirteen of the 69 deck containers on capsized general cargo with container capacity Deneb were removed by salvors Svitzer Salvage at Algeciras by Jun 13. The vessel is resting in a water depth of 14 metres. The extraction of bunker fuel and 26 tons of diesel fuel will be supported by the Spanish anti pollution vessel Luk de Mar

Jun 14 -- A press report, dated today, states: Operations at the port of Algeciras have been disrupted after general cargo with container capacity Deneb capsized on Jun 11. The vessel capsized while berthed at APM Terminal's container facility at the port. The vessel has now settled on the seabed, on its starboard side. Svitzer salvage has been given the task of clearing the vessel as quickly as possible to reduce disruption at the terminal. However, reports suggest it could take up to a week to refloat the vessel.

Jun 16 -- An oil leak occurred from the engine-room of sunken general cargo with container capacity Deneb at Algericas on Jun 14 but was contained by the booms surrounding the vessel. The oil was removed by Jun 15 and no further oil leakage has been observed. Fifty of the 67 deck containers have been recovered by six mobile cranes, supported by divers. The vessel's fuel oil will be pumped out next. Technicians are investigating options for righting the vessel.
