Τις μερες που ημασταν κλειστοι εγινε και μια συγκρουση πλοιων στο Hong Kong. Eπιβατηγο ημεροπλοιο που συνδεει το Hong Kong με το κοντινο νησι Lamma, εμβολισε πλοιαριο της τοπικης εταιρειας ηλεκτρισμου που μετεφερε υπαλληλους της εταιρειας και τις οικογενειες τους. 38 νεκροι το αποτελεσμα.
