Προσάραξη του επιβατηγού/οχηματαγωγού Amorella

" It was totally black on the boat , then came perhaps two three bangs ," said passenger transferee Irina Widberg till Aftonbladet .



The ferry ran aground about 11.40 this morning . According to an announcement from the company's Chief Information Officer is the vessel ran aground at Julgrund out of Föglö . The vessel is stuck near the port of Långnäs and taking on water recounts Sjöräddningscentralen .



Maritime rescue vessels from both Finland and the Åland Islands are on site along with planes and helicopters . Åland Sea Rescue Society has the tug Harald and miljøskiber Svärtan on the way to the accident stones. Amorella has been given a leak in one of the front ballast tanks and awaits investigations by divers .



The ferry was on its way to Stockholm when it ran aground . It is scheduled to ship for the evening to be towed to the port of Långnäs . According to the Finnish sea rescue services are ferry stable and there is no need for evacuation .



The cause of the power failure is so far unknown and power was restored shortly after the ferry was aground .
